About Ozact:

Ozact is a touring repertory theatre company dedicated to making the plays of William Shakespeare accessible and entertaining to contemporary Australian audiences.

The company combines the Australian love of the outdoors, with the timeless stories and fine poetry of the worlds greatest playwright.

Ozact was founded in 1995 by actor / director, Bruce Widdop. THE TEMPEST at Loch Ard Gorge marked the commencement of a line of impressive outdoor productions. The company has gained a reputation as Australia's leading environmental Shakespeare company, producing some of the best outdoor Shakespeare in some of the country's most spectacular locations .

For years, thousands of people have made their way to witness landmark performances of THE TEMPEST at Loch Ard Gorge; KING LEAR in the Grampians; PERICLES at Port Fairy and Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village; MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING at The Mansion at Werribee Park; MACBETH in the Grampians, DAD AND DAVE 'DO' HAMLET along the Southern Coast of Victoria, the highly acclaimed production of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, underground at the World Heritage Naracoorte Caves in South Australia and ROMEO & JULIET at the George Pentland Botanical Gardens in Frankston,Heatherlie Quarry in the Grampians National Park, and at Struan House in Naracoorte SA and most recently the touring production of AS YOU LIKE IT at Heatherlie Quarry in the Grampians National Park, the World Heritage Naracoorte Caves SA, and also Coolart Homestead on the Mornington Peninsula.
